Chris left today to head back to Iraq. It was harder for me than I thought it would be. He was here for long enough for me to get used to having him here. The first day that Chris leaves is always the hardest for me. I know that is the case and I'm sure it will be the same this time. So, tomorrow will be a better day for me.
The boys took it fine. We have been telling Eli that he was going to leave and he knew that he wouldn't be here today. We put up a count down chart on his wall today to count off the remaining days. It is only about 65 more days or 9 weeks. That seems manageable but I hope it passes quickly.

Easter
Boys need Dads
This is one of the many times I realized in the last few weeks why boys need dads around. Chris plays with them much different than I do. He is silly and they love it. After I took the picture of Chris and Eli with the eggs on their ears Isaac picked up an egg and tried to put it on his ear. It was funny. Isaac is such a copy cat right now. He will copy or try to copy anything you do. Both of our boys love their dad and it is going to be hard for him to leave again. Luckily it is only for about two months so we should be able to handle it.

Good old St. Sponge Bob
Eli told me that today was St. Sponge Bob day. I bought him a donut from the store, or I guess I should say the Market because that is what he insists it is called, because he was well behaved while we were there. When we got home he told me that his donut had two clovers on it. I said that was pretty silly since it wasn't St. Patrick's Day anymore and he said "No, it's St. Sponge Bob Day." It took me awhile to realize that Patrick is Sponge Bob's friend and that apparently he thinks St. Patrick's Day has to do with some pink star fish guy from a cartoon. I thought about trying to tell him the real meaning of St. Patrick's Day until I realized that I have no idea what it is. I just always make sure to wear green and Chris always pinches me anyway. I have to admit that his being able to pinch me this year was great.

Lindsey's Wedding
Here are some pictures from my sister's wedding on Friday. It was a long day but we love Auntie Lindsey and our new Uncle Dan and are so happy for them.
And, Chris is home on leave. WAHOO!! He flew in Thursday afternoon and surprised everyone for the wedding. It was a great surprise. (Fortunately I found out about it before he actually got here.)
Chris and I
Eli was so happy to see Chris. I hadn't told him that he was coming home. When he first saw him he just hugged him and held onto him for about 10 minutes. And he has wanted Chris to do everything for him ever since which is fine with me.
Isaac isn't too sure about Chris yet. I'm sure 2 weeks will help out.
Eli with his cousin Joel. They are the best of friends and I wish we lived closer so they could play together more.

Oh Eli

This is what Eli did after church today. Any guesses about what I did tonight? He was asking me if I would get the books that he couldn't reach and put them on the floor because he wanted them all in a pile. This is actually kind of surprising because Eli normally doesn't do stuff like this. I would expect it from Isaac but not Eli.
I started asking Eli at dinner what his favorite part of the day was. It is a very enlightening experience. It is always the place we or he went that day. Once it was going to the grocery store. I guess that is fun for a three year old who hasn't been in awhile. (I usually go while he is at school. It's easier that way.) I'm glad that it is warming up so that we can go more places and he can have more favorite things. I have only done this this week and yesterday before we were even eating he told me that I hadn't asked him what his favorite thing was. Apparently he enjoys it too.

Asking for Trouble
The boys playing at the park

Kids
- Eli asked me yesterday what he could play with that he wasn't supposed to. Um, if you ask it kind of defeats the purpose.
- Isaac now routinely eats more than Eli and throws a lot more food on the floor.
- Eli was an "Otter Monkey" tonight in the bath. Where does he come up with this stuff? I'm pretty sure most of it is in some way related to Curious George. He loves that show.
Highlights of my week
- Cleaning the living room and having it stay clean all day.
- Giving Isaac a haircut all by myself and having it turn out half way decent.
- Taking the boys to the park and watching Isaac go down the slide. It is so fun to watch him discover new things.
- Talking to Chris.
- Lost. I have a love/hate relationship with that show. I love it but it drives me crazy.
Low lights of my week
- Isaac pooping on the bathroom floor and walking in it before I can stop him.
- Still not knowing what I am going to wear to my sister's wedding next week.
