Time goes by...

I can't believe it is the end of June already. I loved it when each month was over when Chris was gone but now that he is home time can slow down. We are going to Lake Powell with his family for a week and then he will have to go back to work. I have been spoiled having him at home during the day. It will be an adjustment for me and the boys to have him working again.

We have been keeping busy with home projects and trying to throw in some fun. Chris put an air conditioner in our house. Unfortunately it isn't working yet because we had to upgrade the power to the house and it has taken longer than planned. So, we are all sweating out the heat until we can get it turned on. There is a swamp cooler but a pipe froze on it this winter and broke. Chris didn't want to fix it because it will be taking it off shortly. So we currently have no way of cooling off our house. Luckily the basement stays cool so we can go down there to cool off.

I ran the Wasatch Back with my sisters and some friends last weekend. If you want to know what that is you can read more here. The picture below is me, Lindsey and Emilee at the top of Avon Pass. It was very pretty.
Today me and the boys went out to my friend Adrien's house. A few other friends from high school were also there with their kids. It was fun to see everyone. Kathryn was there and I haven't seen her for about 5 years. It was fun to catch up and see her two cute boys. The kids all played in the pool and I am a horrible mom because I didn't do sunscreen and now both of my boys are burned. I know, they are burned before we go to Lake Powell, not too smart. I didn't think we were going to be there that long but I really should have known better. I guess next time I will.

Orem Owlz

The second part of our fun day was going to the Orem Owlz baseball game. It was Military Appreciation night and one of Chris's Guard friends was able to get us free tickets plus a $30 concessions card. It was great. Chris actually got to throw out one of the first pitches which he didn't know he had to do until we got there. (I'm not so sure we would have been on time if he knew that was part of the deal.) I didn't really see him throw his because I was trying to get a picture of it which I didn't. I was too late. Oh well.
The boys liked the game well enough. Eli liked the frozen lemonade and drinks the best. Isaac liked the stairs and running away from mom. We had a lot of fun and may go to another game sometime. Although it made for a late night, we enjoyed it.

Thanksgiving Point

We had a fun day yesterday. In the morning we met my friend Adrien and her kids at the Thanksgiving Point Children's Garden. They have a Noah's Ark water feature that the kids played it. They had a lot of fun. Waiting for the water to spray.

Isaac is showing me some flowers that be picked off of the bushes.

Isaac kept saying "wawa" or water over and over.

First Camping Trip of 2008

We decided to go camping on Monday since Eli has been asking to go since about January. We went up Mapleton Canyon to Whiting Campground. It was fun except for the invasion of tree worms. They were everywhere. The boys had a lot of fun though. Eli said his favorite part was going on wood trip to find firewood. He really enjoyed the fire. He was too close to it for my comfort but Chris let him help start it and keep it going.
I think Eli is happy to be there.
Starting the fire

Eli took this picture of us. He did a good job.

Chris claimed to be a master at campfire Jiffy Pop although since it was a little burned I think the rank of master is yet to be attained. It was good popcorn though.
Isaac loves to sit on things like steps and tables that are his size. He sat on this curb most of the morning. I was giving him grapes and he would set them down on the curb and then pick them up and put them in his mouth.
We went on a hike and the boys had a blast playing in the water faucet. Unfortunately my camera battery died and Chris's SD card broke so we lost all of the pictures. I guess we will just have to go again so we can get more pictures.

I hope I'm not spilling the beans but....

Emilee and Ben are engaged!!! We are all very excited and happy for them. Both of my boys love "big tall Ben" as Eli refers to him. Isaac actually said Ben before he said mom. I have almost forgiven Ben for that.

Some other very unrelated but also happy news is that Eli is finally getting potty trained. He is very good at peeing but we are still working on pooping in the toilet. I let him hold out until Chris came home and the last few days we have persisted that he wear underwear. I think this time it is going to stick and hopefully he will be totally diaper free in no time.
